Allergan Textured Breast Implants

Textured breast implants are teardrop-shaped in order to allow for a natural look. Unfortunately, some texturing materials can lead to cancer in some patients. Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is particularly common. The texturing may be associated with cancer due to a genetic predisposition to have an inflammatory reaction to the texture or because bacteria gets trapped in the rough surface. Regardless of the cause, if you develop BIA-ALCL or another form of breast cancer after getting Allergan textured breast implants, you may have grounds for a product liability case.

DePuy ASR Hip System Recall

On August 26th, 2010, DePuy Orthopaedics issued a recall of its DePuy ASR™ Hip Resurfacing System and ASR™ XL Acetabular Hip System. The DePuy ASR Hip System first became available in July 2003, so if you had your hip surgery prior to this time, the hip you received is not subject to this recall. If you received a DePuy ASR Hip System within the indicated timeframe, contact our firm promptly. We will help you take appropriate action against the makers of the flawed system.

Medtronic Infuse

In 2002, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved Medtronic Infuse for marketing and sale. Infuse was used in spinal surgery to help fuse vertebrae and grow bone. During early clinical trials, it was observed that many subjects developed unwanted bone growth. In many cases, this necessitated a second surgery to correct the problem. In June 2011, the North American Spine Society’s Spine Journal concluded that the risk of adverse effects from Infuse was “perhaps 10 to 50 times the original estimates calculated from industry-sponsored studies.” If you’ve been implanted with Infuse and suffered complications as a result, call today to explore your options.

Shoulder Pain Pumps

Shoulder pain pumps have become a popular alternative to narcotics for the purpose of managing pain following arthroscopic shoulder surgery. A shoulder pain pump is a flexible plastic catheter that gets attached to the shoulder joint temporarily. Pain medication is delivered directly to the joint via the catheter. Recently, shoulder pain pumps have been linked to painful side effects, including Postarthroscopic Glenohumeral Chondrolysis (PAGCL). PAGCL may cause weakened shoulder strength, stiffness, limited range of shoulder movement, continuous shoulder pain, or joint grinding. If you or a loved one have experienced complications as a result of a shoulder pain pump, we are ready to represent you.

Vaginal Mesh – Transvaginal Mesh – Pelvic Sling – Bladder Mesh

Our firm is actively compiling and reviewing information associated with vaginal mesh. In July 2011, the FDA notified doctors that most cases involving pelvic organ prolapse are treatable without implanting transvaginal mesh. They additionally added that mesh products may expose patients to more risk than traditional repairs. If you or a loved one has suffered complications because of transvaginal mesh, reach out to our attorneys so we can review your case. You may be entitled to monetary compensation.
